After completing a degree in Journalism from Ryerson University, Kirk began his career in 1980 at The Canadian Press as a general assignment reporter.

Mr. LaPointe has spent time as the Canadian Editor at Billboard Magazine, held the title of Senior Vice President, News, for CTV and helped prototype a national newspaper now known as the National Post.
