Andrew Johns’ Picks: Vancouver Municipal Election 2022

I have had many people ask me lately who I am voting for in the upcoming Vancouver municipal election. Luckily I have had the distinct pleasure of hosting many candidates on Coastal Front, including mayoral and city councillors to discuss pertinent issues that are facing Vancouver and Vancouverites today.

All decisions were not easy and some took me countless hours to ponder, I believe the list of my picks below accurately represents the best individuals in their respective roles to improve and advance the city of Vancouver.

Most of my choices for city council are focused on financial accountability, experience in government at all levels, a strong voice for the Indigenous and youth communities, and a tenacious work ethic and commitment.

My park board selections primarily fall on the candidates who have a passion for the city and want to improve Vancouver’s environmental landscape. For school trustee, advancing our children’s education and ensuring all students have access to meals are my main priorities in my choices.

Lastly, I have decided to vote for Colleen Hardwick for Mayor of Vancouver. I believe that Colleen will place Vancouverites first and hold all city employees accountable. Colleen is an exceptionally intelligent individual who is more than qualified for the role.
